As specialists in environmental planning in Cedar City and Moab, Utah and Pocatello, Idaho, we care about our planet and our communities.

Even the smallest changes in habits can make a significant impact when it comes to water conservation. Everyone can do something, and every effort matters.

Here are a few tips to help you conserve hundreds of gallons of water or more—saving you money and helping our planet.

Implement These Water Conservation Tips

  • Don’t procrastinate fixing a leaky faucet. Repairing it can save a significant amount of water.
  • If you see broken pipes, sprinklers, fire hydrants, etc. in your community, report it so it can get fixed quickly.
  • Rather than wasting water waiting for it to get hot, collect it and reuse it later for other purposes like cooking or watering plants.
  • Only run the washing machine or dishwasher when there are full loads.
  • Compost rather than solely using a garbage disposal.
  • Install a low flow shower head.
  • Take shorter showers, and turn water off to lather up then back on to rinse.
  • Take showers instead of baths to save water.
  • Turn off the faucet when washing hands, shaving, or brushing teeth.
  • Lay mulch around plants and trees to help slow down evaporation and decrease the need for frequent watering.
  • Use a broom or blower to remove debris from your landscape rather than a hose.
  • Water grass or plants in the early morning or evening to reduce evaporation.
