Job Description

The Professional Land Surveyor will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all surveying activities within the organization. They will ensure the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Trains staff in the department in technical design areas
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Helps manage client expectations for surveying specific scopes of work

 

Requirements

  • Oversees the preparation and final project plans
  • Helps manage client expectations related to costs and schedules with the Project Manager
  • Conducts or acquires cost analysis for development projects; prepares or delegates preparation of schedule of project completion dates
  • Ensures that projects are completed within budget and on time
  • Implements the strategic direction of the organization’s engineering and development initiatives
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making
  • Establishes and administers the department’s budget
  • Responsible for project design quality control
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community 
  • Performs other duties as assigned
