Job Description

The Geotechnical Technician will complete geotechnical engineering tasks and assignments in the field.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide geotechnical services for construction
  • Gather field data
  • Prepare accurate field notes, drawings and records of changes in conditions while in the field
  • Required to clear vegetation or access challenging areas for soil exploration
  • Work with or around heavy equipment including drilling rigs and excavators
  • Learn and follow geotechnical methods and standards as required by state and public agencies
  • Coordinate lab testing schedules
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of geotechnical  principles, practices, and tools
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work extended hours outdoors
